• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
• Pipe Fitting & Joint Beveling
• MIG Welding
• Blueprint Reading

Textbooks, safety glasses, welding helmets, jackets, and gloves are included.

NOTE: Long pants and composite or steel-toed shoes are required for all welding classes.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:

1. Describe and utilize welding safety practices used in the field.
2. Identify the proper personal protective equipment required to perform welding applications.
3. Compare, contrast, and demonstrate multiple types of welding applications
4. Explain and demonstrate the proper set up and preparation of the welding machine prior to striking an arc.
5. Identify the various settings for multiple welding applications
6. Match welding symbols to their proper application.
7. Identify and utilize various types of welding rods and their proper application.
8. Explain, define, and implement various welding joints.
9. Demonstrate the selection of the welding rod for the proper application, strike an arc and successfully run a bead to join two pieces of metal/pipe.
