From early experiences as a student leader at Millersville University to their current role in Career Services at the George Campus in Wilmington, they have shown a deep commitment to supporting students and helping them succeed. Q: Can you share your journey to becoming a staff member at Delaware Tech? When did you start and what were you doing before?

“Before working at Delaware Tech, I was a student worker at Millersville University, where I studied behavioral and human services. During my time there, I served as a campus tour guide, orientation leader, and played an active role in planning campus events. Working closely with dedicated staff members inspired me to pursue a career in higher education.

Although I paused my studies during the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue following my passion for higher education here at Delaware Tech. I began working at the College in 2023 as a part-time administrative assistant for the Education Department at the George Campus. I truly enjoyed getting to know the faculty and supporting the work under the Department of Instruction.

Over time, I realized I wanted to be more directly involved with students—specifically in helping them access holistic resources to support their growth. When a full-time position in Student Affairs became available, I was eager to apply, and I’m even more grateful to be in my current role. As the administrative assistant for Career Services, I find my work incredibly fulfilling. It’s a daily reminder that any effort can make a meaningful difference in students’ lives.”

Q: Describe your first day at Delaware Tech. What was that experience like?

“I was both overwhelmed and excited on my first day at Delaware Tech. Thankfully, the faculty and staff were informative, welcoming, and happy to answer any and all questions, which eased the anxiety I had going into the job.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Delaware Tech?

“My favorite thing about working at Delaware Tech is helping students succeed in their college journey. Whether I’m connecting them with the right person or guiding them to helpful on-campus resources, seeing students reach their goals is what motivates me every day. I also appreciate how Delaware Tech stays true to its mission of putting students at the center of everything they do. The opportunities, support, and flexibility the College offers sets it apart from other institutions.”

Q: Do you have a favorite memory from your time at Delaware Tech thus far?
“I had the pleasure of volunteering at the annual Mardi Gras event over the last two years, which was a great way to get to know coworkers and experience a fun event. I’m thankful that I was a Krewe Leader for the Welcome Krewe. This allowed me to utilize my planning and outreach skills, as well as meet many of the people who attended the event.”

Q: What challenges have you faced in your career, and how have you overcome them? What changes have you seen in yourself since you started working here?

“During my time at Delaware Tech, I’ve experienced a number of changes that have shaped me both personally and professionally. When I came into my role, I had to be even more detail-oriented in order to best support campus events and students. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of flexibility and a willingness to embrace new ways of doing things. I feel empowered and not as nervous now to ask questions and take initiative. Since starting at the College, I’ve significantly strengthened my administrative skills and developed more effective communication strategies — not just with students, but also with faculty and staff. I hope to continue to grow professionally in my role and am excited for what’s to come.”

Q: Can you share a significant achievement or milestone in your professional journey?

“At the end of this year, I will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral and human services. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a master’s degree — likely in education, higher education, or school counseling — in 2026.”

Q: What are your interests or hobbies outside of the college?

“Outside of Delaware Tech, I enjoy reading, running, and finding new restaurants to visit with my friends.”

Q: What’s something people may not know about you?

“I was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Delaware two years ago! Although I’m not a Delawarean, I’m happy to call this place my home.”
