How to Apply

To apply for a study abroad course at Delaware Tech, take the following steps:

  1. Contact the course faculty leader or support faculty to schedule an individual 30-minute interview about the course. See the Study Abroad webpage for contact information. Instructors begin scheduling interviews mid-to-late October.
  2. After the initial interview is completed, download and complete the Study Abroad Application (PDF) and schedule an appointment with your campus International Education Coordinators. At this appointment, you will participate in a 20-minute discussion regarding the study abroad experience and expectations. This can be done in person or virtually.
  3. You must provide the fully filled out Application to the IEC prior to or during your meeting. All areas must be filled out and signed in order for you to enroll in the course.
  4. Upon approval from the IEC, you will be enrolled in the course, but must make an immediate $200 non-refundable deposit at Delaware Tech Business Services to retain your spot in the course. The course will appear on your spring schedule, and the travel cost will be applied by Business Services.
  5. After enrollment, the course will appear on your spring semester schedule. The course cost will be included with the rest of your spring semester tuition.
  6. A travel cost will be applied to your account by Business Services. The travel cost will be divided into 3-4 approximately equal payments, which must be made over the course of 3-4 months at any Delaware Tech Business Services office. The IEC will provide you with vouchers, which must be provided with each payment. See the Study Abroad Application (PDF) for payment amounts and dates.

You are now considered an enrolled participant in the study abroad course. Congratulations!
