Leadership Development Program Activities
Individual Development Plan
All activities are required to be completed. Individual activities completed within three years immediately prior to participation in LDP, with approval of the mentor, may be accepted as a completed LDP activity.
Activity A
Based on the Emotional Intelligence survey results, identify a behavior to change and develop a plan to make the change; report outcomes to mentor.
Activity B
Give a presentation about the College to an external group with prior approval of the group and topic by the Program Coordinator.
Activity C
Plan and execute the annual Administrative Retreat.
Activity D
Attend a meeting of three different collegewide coordinating groups and/or committees.
Activity E
Attend a Delaware Tech Board of Trustees meeting and subcommittee meeting.
Activity F
Attend an administrative council meeting at, and tour the facilities of, each campus.
Activity G
Attend a campus update at a campus other than the participant's home campus.
Activity H
Attend a budget presentation at the participant's home campus and one other campus location.
Activity I
Attend College budget hearings before the Office of Management and Budget Director, Joint Finance Committee, and Joint Bond Bill Committee.
Activity J
Spend a day shadowing one's mentor or an administrator.
Activity K
Complete one core course from the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) Certificate Program.
Activity L
If needed, complete IDT G63 – ePortfolio Design course from the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) Certificate Program.
Activity M
Select a leadership resource to read/review, and be prepared to share key points with the class during a leadership resources and review seminar.
Activity N
Volunteer in the community or serve on a non-profit community board, commission, and/or committee for a minimum of 30 hours.
Activity O
Attend a meeting of a minimum of three stakeholders of the College, e.g., advisory committees, alumni associations, faculty/staff senates, student government associations, or others.
Activity P
Demonstrate the ability to plan and lead an effective project that emphasizes teambuilding (i.e., United Way or Educational Foundation employee-giving campaign, etc.)
Activity Q
Chair or participate on a campus or collegewide committee or task force.
Activity R
Attend a graduation ceremony of a campus other than the participant's home campus.
Activity S
Plan/assist in designing a student success initiative.
Activity T
Participate with a development director in a tour/visit of a potential donor.
Activity U
Student Success Initiative: spend 12 hours (two hours in each area) assisting with student support services related to student success to include Admissions/Counseling, Career Services, Financial Aid Office, Registrar’s Office, and Student Support Services; attend a New Student Orientation.
