March 27, 2025
Â鶹ÊÓƵ recently held a coin ceremony to celebrate the 11 paramedic students who completed their degree and certificate programs and can now use their training to fill critical positions in paramedic agencies statewide.
The ceremony on March 17 recognized four students who completed the 54-credit paramedic degree program and seven students who completed the 36-credit certificate program. Both programs include education and training in the classroom and simulation lab, clinical rotations, and a field internship. Students in the degree program must have three pre-requisite science courses, and students in the certificate program must have an EMT certification, demonstrated college readiness, and be in good academic standing with the College. Most of the certificate program recruits are sent from a paramedic agency for training.
The paramedic degree students in Class 30 were Zachary Borden, Cassidy Emmell, Matthew Fezza, and Hanna Magee. The certificate program students in Class 1 were Kaitlyn Brunker, Antione Kearney, Samantha Lewis, Sara Razzaq, Michael Robbins, Katelin Whaley, and Joseph Yahya.
