Delaware Tech Women’s Basketball Shows Grit and Growth in 2025-2026 Season

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s women’s basketball team kicked off the 2025-2026 season with an impressive victory over Baltimore City Community College on November 1. Kai Burnette led the offense by scoring a total of 21 points, helping to secure the team's win. The following schedule of games would prove to be challenging and highly competitive. Despite suffering a string of losses, the team would remain committed to improving with every contest.
While the team’s match-up against Rowan College at Gloucester County ended in a 55-70 loss, Ciara Whittle earned her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
When the team faced Hagerstown Community College, Talaney Pierce obtained her first double-double by pulling down an impressive 19 rebounds while also scoring 14 points. During that same game, Burnette went six for six from the free-throw line. A few days later, Pierce obtained her second double-double, scoring 14 points and securing 10 rebounds at home against Chesapeake College
Whittle earned her second double-double during the Montgomery Tip-Off against Howard Community College, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds. This nail-biting game concluded with a score of 58-59 in favor of Howard Community College.
The following week, Pierce continued her impressive streak by achieving her third double-double against Lackawanna College, where she scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Burnette also secured her first double-double of the season, contributing 12 points and 11 assists. Unfortunately, this game ended in another close defeat, with a final score of 64-68.
The women’s team secured their second victory of the season when they faced Salem Community College on the home court on Nov. 25, winning with a final score of 64-53. Pierce once again earned a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Due to her outstanding performance during this game, she was awarded the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Player of the Week title. She continued her stellar play during the team’s next game against Mercer County Community College, where she scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, marking her fifth double-double of the season.
The women’s basketball team continues regular season play until their final game (away) against Anne Arundel Community College on Feb. 26. See their full season schedule.
