Wilmington Campus Celebrates Radiologic Technology Class of 2025 at Pinning Ceremony

May 16, 2025

Graduates of Delaware Tech’s Radiologic Technology program were honored during a special pinning ceremony held on May 8 at the George Campus in Wilmington. The event celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2025 as they prepare to enter the health care workforce as skilled radiologic technologists.

Radiologic technology students at Delaware Tech are trained in the use of X-ray equipment and imaging techniques, including proper patient positioning, radiation safety protocols, and quality patient care. Graduates go on to work in hospital radiology departments, outpatient imaging centers, and physician’s offices throughout the region, with some choosing to further their education in specializations such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Computed Tomography (CT) imaging.

The Radiologic Technology (RAD) program holds a significant place in Delaware Tech’s history as part of a unique, long-standing partnership with Christiana Care, which has formally co-sponsored the program for over 50 years.

The RAD program is consistently one of the most sought-after allied health programs—recently receiving 197 applications for the 12-student cohort starting this fall—due to continued success in retention rates, board licensure pass rates, and employment rates.

The guest speaker at this year’s pinning ceremony was Deborah E. Hammond, MSHA, CRA, RT(R)(MR), director of the breast center and outpatient imaging services at Christiana Care. Hammond shared a powerful story of how her interest in Delaware Tech’s program was sparked after a positive interaction with a Delaware Tech graduate who performed her imaging after an injury. She reminded graduates of the lasting impact they can have on patients, saying, “You too just may inspire one of your patients to become a future Delaware Tech x-ray graduate.”

The Class of 2025 was represented by graduate Keil Reilly, who shared reflections on the cohort’s journey, teamwork, and the support that helped each member reach this significant milestone.

Each graduate received the program pin—a symbolic token of their knowledge, perseverance, and readiness to serve in the medical imaging field.
