Terry Campus Nursing Department and Bayhealth Hold Nurse Educator Conference

The Delaware Tech Terry Campus Nursing Department partnered with Bayhealth to hold a Nurse Educator Conference June 8, 2023 in Dover. More than 200 nursing professionals from across Delaware and the tri-state area gathered in the on-campus Del-One Conference Center for updates on educational trends relevant to the nursing profession.
Co-chaired by Delaware Tech nursing instructors Deborah Lord and Mary Ellen McKnight, the conference featured five presentations:
- Pathway of Transition from Nursing Student to Clinical Practice, presented by Rosemary Wurster and supported by guest panelists Amanda Bergstrom, Amy Cunningham, Alana King, Erica McPhail, and Michelle Thompson.
- Developing Success for Next Gen, presented by Bonnie Ross and Kelly Simmons.
- Identifying Anxiety Triggers in Nursing Students and Tools for Resiliency in the Clinical Environment, presented by Christopher Otto.
- Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice: A Method to Improve Outcomes for a Novice Nurse Learner, presented by Sarah Beebe and Deborah Lord.
- The Disease Concept of Substance Use Disorders, presented by Chuck Robillard.
Additional remarks were given by special guests Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long and Rebecca Walker, Delaware Deputy Director of Public Health, with opening comments provided by Delaware Tech Vice President and Terry Campus Director Cornelia Johnson and Delaware Tech Nursing Instructional Director Joshua Barnes.
