September 4, 2024
The Delaware Tech Terry Campus in Dover, working in collaboration with the Central Delaware Business and Entrepreneurship Consortium, will host the Central Delaware Economic Summit on Sept. 17, 2024, from 8 a.m. to noon in the on-campus Del-One Conference Center.
The summit brings together leaders in business, government, education, and the community to focus on improving the economic conditions and quality of life in central Delaware. This year’s summit will focus on Delaware's recreational marijuana industry and its impact on local businesses.
Robert Coupe, State of Delaware’s Marijuana Commissioner, will deliver the keynote address. Commissioner Coupe’s agency, the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner, is responsible for regulating the recreational marijuana industry in Delaware.
In addition to Coupe’s presentation, the summit will also feature a moderated discussion among business professionals from the sectors impacted by Delaware’s passage of the Marijuana Control Act, which became effective on July 5, 2023.
The discussion will be moderated by Paul Hyland, deputy commissioner in the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner, and will include panelists Molly DiBianca, member in charge of the Clark Hill Law Firm; Dr. Chris Moody, Delaware Tech’s associate vice president for workforce development and community education; Representative (24th District) Edward Osienski; Jennifer Stark, CEO, co-founder, and co-owner of The Farm; and Stephen Wright, vice president, commercial relationship manager at Shore United Bank.
The summit is only being offered in person, and registration is $35, which includes breakfast.
