Softball Wins District Championship, Earns Spot in World Series

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ softball team has earned a spot in the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball World Series after winning the Atlantic B District Tournament on May 10. This is the fourth time in the past five seasons that Delaware Tech has advanced to the national championship tournament.

The World Series will be played May 19-24 in Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. A field of 20 teams, comprised of 16 district champions and four at-large selections, will play in the double-elimination tournament.

Delaware Tech, which earned a 19 seed in the World Series, will open the tournament against 14 seed Black Hawk College (Illinois). The game will be played Monday, May 19, at 2 p.m. local time.

In the District Tournament, Delaware Tech swept a double-header against Louisburg College to win the best-of-three series that was played on the College’s Jack F. Owens Campus in Georgetown. Delaware Tech won the first game 4-3 and won the second game 4-2.

Kylee Hill picked up the win in the opener, striking out ten and allowing five hits. At the plate, Brooklyn Richardson went 2 for 3 and had an RBI.

Mara Everton pitched the second game, striking out six and allowing four hits. On offense, Madison Fox went 2 for 3, and Kylee Hill picked up a hit and recorded two RBIs.
