More Than 400 Participate in Terry Campus Chocolate 5k Run/Walk

The 12th annual Chocolate 5k Run/Walk, held February 10, 2024, on the College’s Terry Campus in Dover, drew more than 400 registrants. It marked the second consecutive year since returning to an in-person event that more than 400 individuals participated and helped raise funds to support the Terry Campus Emergency Fund for Students.
Following the run/walk on the single-loop USATF-certified course, participants and guests enjoyed an awards ceremony and chocolate party inside the Del-Once Conference Center. Post-race treats featured homemade hot chocolate, freshly prepared chocolate ganache accompanied by fruit and snacks for dipping, and decadent home-baked chocolate treats prepared by students and instructors from the campus culinary arts program.
Additional amenities included an event T-shirt designed by Terry Campus visual communications student Anna Cook, a free Kiddie K fun run, door prizes, and awards for the best Valentine-themed costumes.
Primary sponsors for the Chocolate 5k were the Daily State News, Bayhealth Medical Center, the Brainard Family, and Del-One Federal Credit Union.
Next year’s Chocolate 5k Run/Walk will once again be a sweet event for the whole family, so please save the date of Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.
