Men's and Women's Basketball Celebrates Student Athletes at Sophomore Night Ceremony
February 25, 2026
Delaware Tech honored its second-year student-athletes from the men's and women's basketball teams during a Sophomore Night ceremony, held before each team's home game against Raritan Valley Community College on Feb. 17 at the Stanton Campus.
During the ceremony, athletes were escorted onto the court by their family and friends, and each athlete received a personalized poster presented by Dan Ehmann, the Vice President and Campus Director of the Stanton Campus, and Dr. Lora Johnson, Vice President and Campus Director of the George Campus in Wilmington.
Ciara Whittle was the sole honoree from the women's team, concluding her two-year career with 49 games played. She has scored a total of 308 points and has contributed 34 assists, 42 steals, and 349 rebounds.
"Ciara Whittle has been an amazing addition to the Delaware Tech women's basketball team," said Brittany Ford, head coach of the Delaware Tech women's basketball team. "What makes her special isn't just what she does in games — it's how she shows up every day in practice, in the locker room, and in the classroom. Her contagious energy is unmatched and will never be duplicated."
Adam Bailey, Amari Moses, and Obi Coleman were recognized from the men's team. Bailey played in 41 total games during his athletic career and contributed 197 points, 34 assists, 20 steals, and 64 rebounds.
"Adam was an excellent athlete, but more importantly, he was an excellent student-athlete," said Richard Rago, head coach for the Delaware Tech men's basketball team. "For two years, he answered the call of his professors and his coach. Adam gave 100 percent of himself at practice and in games."Moses concluded his time as a student-athlete after playing in 38 games. His career stats include 418 total points, 69 assists, 37 steals, and 290 rebounds.
"Because he transferred to the College, Amari has been practicing, traveling, and playing college basketball over the course of three seasons," said Rago. "He is full of life on the floor, whether it be at practice or in a game. His hustle and basketball skills should definitely advance him to the next level."
Coleman competed in a total of 53 games while at Delaware Tech and earned the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Player of the Week title twice this season. Over the course of his basketball career, he scored 869 points, 104 assists, 120 steals, and grabbed 381 rebounds.
"For two years, Coleman gave his full self in every practice and in every classroom," said Rago. "Despite every opposing coach planning their defense to stop him, Obi often ended up with game-leading double-doubles and usually one monster slam dunk."
