Dr. Lora Johnson Receives DAWN 2026 Visionary Award

March 6, 2026

Dr. Lora Johnson, vice president and campus director for Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Wilmington campus, has received the 2026 Visionary Award from the Delaware ACE Women’s Network (DAWN).

Each year, DAWN identifies women who shape the future of higher education by leading “with intention, exemplifying excellence through innovative thinking, collaborative leadership, and service.” Johnson is one of three women to receive this year’s DAWN Visionary Award.

These award winners have shown that they are “doing great things in their communities, families, and careers” and have shown themselves to be “forward thinkers and luminaries,” according to DAWN, which is a chapter of the American Council on Education (ACE).

DAWN’s executive committee, made up of members from each institution, selects the award winners. Delaware Tech Directors of Communication and Planning Debra Troxler and Victoria Chang, and Academic Counselor Lisa Terranova serve on DAWN’s executive committee and nominated Johnson for the award.

“Dr. Lora Johnson’s leadership is extraordinary because of the depth and breadth of her experience at the college,” Troxler said. “Having served in several leadership roles, she understands the institution from multiple perspectives. Over the past decade, I’ve witnessed her create environments where students thrive, talent is cultivated, and bold ideas take shape.”

The other two winners of the 2026 Visionary Award are Dr. Danielle Archambault, associate vice president in the Office of Student Success at Delaware State University, and Nicole Minni, associate policy scientist at the University of Delaware.

DAWN upholds the mission of advancing women’s leadership by identifying women leaders, developing women's leadership abilities, encouraging the use of those abilities, advancing women’s careers, linking women to other women and mentors, and supporting women in mid- and executive-level positions throughout their careers.
