Fall 2025 Celebration of Giving Luncheon Honors Donors at Stanton Campus
November 24, 2025
Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted a Celebration of Giving luncheon at its Stanton Campus on Nov. 21 to honor distinguished donors for their generous support of student success at the Stanton and Wilmington campuses. Scholarship recipients attended the event to connect with donors and express their gratitude.
Student speakers included Heather Spencer, a nursing major at the Stanton Campus, and Sarah Qasim, an education major from the George Campus in Wilmington. They shared personal stories, discussed how their scholarships have impacted their lives, and expressed gratitude to the donors.
Spencer spoke about what inspired her to enroll in the Delaware Tech nursing program and the challenges she faced along the way.
“To the donors and supporters of Delaware Tech, thank you,” she said. “Your generosity has opened doors for me and for countless other students who might otherwise never have had the chance to pursue their dreams. Your support changes lives, strengthens families, and builds the future of our communities.”
Qasim spoke of her journey coming to the United States and the support she received from the College once she enrolled.
“I am also so grateful to have received the Mardi Gras scholarship,” said Qasim. “This scholarship has allowed me to meet my financial obligations and remain focused on my studies. Because of this support, I have been able to continue attending my classes, complete my fieldwork, and stay on the path toward achieving my goals. For me, and for many others, scholarships mean more than financial help; they mean opportunity and hope.”
Delaware Tech President Mark T. Brainard closed out the celebration by recognizing Amanda Lemmon as a new President’s Circle donor. Established in 2017, the President’s Circle honors individuals who support Delaware Tech with financial gifts of $500 within a given year. Since 2017, 584 members of the Delaware Tech community have been recognized and admitted into the President’s Circle.
“Amanda Lemmon is a very special member of the Delaware Tech team,” said Brainard. “She’s a Delaware Tech alum, she’s a member of the senior leadership team at the George Campus in Wilmington, and really, she is one of the hardest working, conscientious, loyal, and student-centered leaders that we have on our team.”
