Delaware Tech's Wilmington Campus Added as Additional Training Site for NCC Paramedic Academy
January 16, 2026
Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Wilmington campus has entered into a new partnership with New Castle County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to serve as an additional training site for the New Castle County (NCC) Paramedic Academy.
The expansion brings EMT and paramedic training directly to Wilmington, increasing access to education while helping prepare more trained paramedics to meet workforce needs across New Castle County.
The NCC Paramedic Academy is an intensive, accelerated, one-year National Registry-level program designed for individuals committed to public service. Recruits are hired as full-time county employees and receive a salary and benefits while completing classroom instruction, hands-on clinical training, physical fitness preparation, and team-based learning.
To ensure training capacity supports critical public safety needs, the College uses a prioritized process to fill available seats in the program. County paramedic agencies and the Delaware State Police Aviation Section receive first priority for enrollment in Delaware Tech's EMT Paramedic Certificate Program.
By adding Delaware Tech's Wilmington campus as a training location, New Castle County EMS is expanding its ability to train paramedics locally and strengthening the emergency medical workforce serving the community.
