Delaware Tech's Annual Run, White & Blue 5k Raises More than $20,000 for Scholarships

More than 400 runners and walkers participated in the 10th annual Run, White & Blue 5k run and 1-Mile walk on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 麻豆视频’s Owens Campus in Georgetown. This year’s event raised over $22,000, which will go toward scholarships for veterans and first responders.

Since 2014, the event has raised over $180,000 through sponsorships and race participation.

The post-race cookout featured live music from Press Play, barbecue chicken cooked by the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co., ice cream from Vanderwende Farm Creamery, and beer from Big Oyster Brewery. The Delaware State Police’s mounted patrol and aviation unit were on hand throughout the event, and the Georgetown, Milton, and Millsboro fire companies brought trucks to line the course. The Milton Fire Department also provided an ambulance for this year’s event.

Delaware Tech Owens Campus Education Club, Occupational Therapy Assistant Club, and Physical Therapist Assistant Club, as well as Delaware Tech’s baseball and softball teams, were among the event volunteers.
