Delaware Tech Celebrates Nursing Graduates with Pinning Ceremonies

May 30, 2025

Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted several pinning ceremonies in May to celebrate and recognize the 157 graduates from its Associate Nursing Degree program as they take their next steps towards professional nursing careers. These special pinning ceremonies are a tradition closely tied to an award given to legendary nurse Florence Nightingale, who is best known for leading nurses across the battlefields during the Crimean War to care for injured soldiers. During the ceremony, graduates received a symbolic pin to mark their completion of the program. After the formal presentation of the pins, the graduates held candles as they recited the Nightingale Pledge.

The first ceremony was held on May 6 for 42 graduates at the Terry Campus and was followed by a pinning ceremony on May 8 for 71 graduates at the Stanton Campus. The celebrations came to a close on May 15 with a final ceremony at the Owens Campus for 44 graduates.

Delaware Tech’s nursing department offers Associate Nursing Degree (RN), Practical Nursing Studies (PN), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. These are designed to teach skills that are essential for the betterment of health in the community. View .
