Delaware Tech Basketball Programs Earn Multiple Postseason Accolades

After completing the best seasons in at least the past eight years of each program, members of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's men's and women's basketball teams have received multiple postseason accolades.
Rashaan Butler of the men's basketball team was named NJCAA Region 19 Player of the Year and NJCAA Region 19 First Team All-Region. Butler served as one of the team captains and was a driving force in Delaware Tech's NJCAA Region 19 men's basketball championship. In 24 games (including three playoff games), Butler scored 342 points, with 169 rebounds, 69 assists, and 36 steals. He led the team in field goal percentage, assists, steals, and minutes played. Butler was also second on the team in rebounds and third on the team in scoring.
Head coach Richard Rago was named NJCAA Region 19 Coach of the Year for leading Delaware Tech to the region championship. Rago took over the program for the 2018-2019 season and went 0-27. One year later the team was a win away from qualifying for the region tournament. The 2020-2021 season ended up being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this season was also disrupted at various times due to pandemic related issues. However, Rago remained a driving force and kept his players ready.
Syed Myles of the men's basketball team received NJCAA Region 19 Second Team All-Region honors. Myles, who also earned Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors twice throughout the season, had a sensational first season for Delaware Tech. In 24 games (including three playoff games), Myles scored 398 points, with 104 rebounds, 61 assists, and 26 steals. He was first on the team in scoring and free throw percentage, and was second on the team in 3-point percentage, assists, steals, and minutes played. He was also third on the team in field goal percentage and fourth on the team in rebounds.
Finally, Daqira Lancaster-Navarro of the women's basketball team was named NJCAA Region 19 Second Team All-Region. Lancaster-Navarro led Delaware Tech back to the Region 19 tournament for the first time in at least five seasons. In 17 games (including one playoff game), Lancaster-Navarro scored 417 points, with 240 rebounds, 49 assists, and 39 steals. She led the team in scoring, steals, field goal percentage, and 3-point percentage. Lancaster-Navarro was also second on the team in rebounds and second on the team in minutes played.
