It was a clean sweep for Delaware Tech Athletics, as student-athletes for all three spring sports the College competes in received Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for the week of March 7.
Matt Rodriguez led the baseball team to four wins, allowing the team to remain undefeated at an amazing 17-0. In the four games, Rodriguez batted .615 with 7 hits and 4 RBI. He had the go-ahead RBI double in the first game of a doubleheader against Bucks County Community College. Besides hitting, Rodriguez also took the mound as a relief pitcher and earned the save in the first game against Bucks County and the win in the second game.
Macey Myers led the softball team to a 3-1 record. In those four games, Myers batted .615 with 8 hits and 4 RBI. She knocked the game-winning home run in Delaware Tech’s second game of a doubleheader against Rowan College of South Jersey-Gloucester.
Bryce Wells has quickly become one of the top face-off players in junior college men’s lacrosse, and has been a major reason why Delaware Tech has started this season 4-0. In two games, Wells went 18-for-23 in face-offs for an astounding 78% win rate. Those possessions allowed Delaware Tech to outscore its two opponents 39-12 in the two victories.
