November 14, 2025
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ men's cross country team claimed the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Division II Men's Championship at the regional championship meet in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 26.
The men's team competed in Division II without any other competition and had all eight runners finish to earn the championship title.
During the Region 19 championship meet, Freshman Ben Shearer led the way with an 8k time of 30:13 and placed fifth overall in the race. He was followed by Joshua McCloskey (31:18), Braedon Higbee (32:22), Kagan Rogers (33:53), Ethan Day (34:43), Leo Sticinski Jr. (37:55), Jahmyi Al-amin (42:09), and Eddie Cobb (44:36).
There were also no other Division II teams on the women's side besides Delaware Tech, but since there were only two women's runners competing for the College, they were unable to compete for a team championship. A minimum of five runners is required to comprise a team.
Freshman Sarah Esbenshade finished the 5k course with a time of (26:15), followed by Sascha Antonio (34:26).
"I am extremely grateful for the efforts, camaraderie, and consistency that this team brought," said Leo Sticinski, head coach of Delaware Tech's men's cross-country program. "The most important thing to me is that our runners reached their full potential."
