Celebration of Giving Luncheons Connect Delaware Tech Donors and Students

March 31, 2026

Delaware Tech recognized its generous donors during Celebration of Giving luncheons at the Dover and Georgetown campuses, bringing together donors and students to celebrate the impact of scholarships and how they support student success.

The Terry Campus in Dover hosted its luncheon on March 18. Scholarship recipients Bernice Martin, a student in the hemodialysis technician program; Elianna Davis, an elementary education major; and Rashiid Brewer, a nursing student, shared their Delaware Tech experience and gratitude for the scholarships they’ve received. An adult learner who recently received his high school diploma, Brewer shared how the donors’ generosity made it possible to pursue his goals.

“Your support is shaping the next generation of nurses and caregivers, but also future educators, the next generation of business leaders, human service professionals, chefs, and so many more that are here with us today,” said Brewer. “Each of us is pursuing a path to make a difference in our communities, and your generosity is helping us with the journeys to make them possible.”

The Owens Campus in Georgetown held its celebratory event on March 25. Scholarship recipients Howard Green, a student in the heavy equipment operator program; Tyesha Marine, a veterinary technology student; and Sara Mass, a student in the physical therapist assistant program, shared stories of their personal experience and educational journey as well as expressing appreciation to donors.

A single mother raising a 3-year-old daughter while working and taking classes, Marine shared with donors how their financial support has made a significant impact on her life.

“There have been times when things felt overwhelming trying to figure out how to pay for textbooks, lab supplies, uniforms, and everything that comes with being a full-time student, but I knew that continuing my education would open doors not just for me, but for my daughter as well,” she said. “Receiving scholarships has truly been a blessing in my life. These scholarships have helped relieve financial stress and allowed me to focus on what matters most — learning, growing, and becoming the best veterinary technician I can be.”

At these luncheons, the College also welcomed new members into the President’s Circle, those donors who give annual financial gifts of $500 or more, and the Delaware Tech Legacy Society, those who contribute lifetime gifts of at least $50,000 or have announced their intention to do so.

President’s Circle inductees included D. Adkins, Jisun Chang, Jesse Davis, Chris DeClark, Stephen Duncan, Jennifer Hargreaves, Allan Jarmon, Matt Lee, Dr. Delora McQueen, Francis “Pat” Pollock, Gregory Schmidt, Mark Seiler, and Jillian Whitney. Legacy Society inductees included Pam Brown and Dawnel White; Jesse Davis; Harvey Kenton, executor of the Estate of Adolph A. Lanauskus; Charlie Goh Miri; and Veronica White.
