Athletics Awards Nights Wrap Up Tremendous 2021-2022 Athletics Season

One last round of celebrations for a tremendous 2021-2022 Delaware Tech Athletics season occurred recently when an Athletics Awards Night was held in each county for student-athletes competing in men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse, and women’s volleyball.

The men’s basketball, softball, and men's lacrosse teams all won the NCAA Region 19 Championship in their respective sport, and the softball team won the NJCAA Northeast District and competed in the 2022 NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. In addition, three coaches were named NJCAA Region 19 Coach of the Year, three athletes were named NJCAA Region 19 Player of the Year, and one softball player (Macey Myers) and two men’s lacrosse players (Conor Christie and Jack Dennis) were named an NJCAA All-American.

The President's Award is presented each year to a male and female student-athlete who demonstrates academic success, leadership, and citizenship, while being an ambassador for the athletics program. This year's winners are Carly Collins of softball, and Jared McGarrity of men's basketball.

The John C. Shew Award is presented each year to the second-year student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA. The award is named in honor of the former academic counselor and athletics director who was a staunch believer in academics and athletics, and an advocate for the importance of education. This year's winner is Tori Henry, a member of the softball team.

Below are the winners of the Team Awards and Campus Director’s Awards. The Campus Director’s Award is presented to a student-athlete on each team who best exemplifies the characteristics of a Delaware Tech student-athlete.
