2025 Appoquinimink Workforce Readiness Fair at Delaware Tech

March 28, 2025

Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted the annual Appoquinimink Workforce Readiness Fair for the first time at its Terry Campus in Dover, welcoming more than 900 juniors from Appoquinimink, Middletown, and Odessa high schools.

With support from numerous volunteers, students participated in mock interviews, engaged in a networking lunch, and received workforce guidance from industry professionals aligned with the district’s pathways while also taking the opportunity to check out the College’s Dover campus.

Students, dressed to impress, practiced mock interviews in various classrooms across the campus at the March 12 event. They developed essential skills, including delivering a firm handshake, crafting an effective elevator speech, and making a lasting impression on potential employers.

During the networking lunch, students interacted with local industry professionals, providing them with an opportunity to ask questions, gain insights, and receive valuable career advice as they prepare to enter their senior year. Dr. Paul T. Morris, Jr., vice president and campus director, addressed students during the networking sessions.

In addition, industry experts from various Appoquinimink pathways, such as animal science, healthcare sciences, culinary arts, and construction, provided workforce and professional development tips. Students expressed their gratitude for the chance to connect with professionals and explore the Terry Campus.
